Chesterton Wrestling Club

The CWC has many great individuals that contribute to the program of making tomorrow's champions. Without these great people the club would not be able to help so many kids, adults and parents in learning about wrestling sportsmanship, character building and hard work. CWC attempts to teach young people the challenges of the sport and promoting friendly competition between similar age groups and weight classes

Chris is the head wresting coach for Chesterton High School and a Chesterton Wrestling Club coach. He has been involved with high school wrestling for many years having coached five Indiana High School Athletic Association Champions and the 1989 Chesterton High School State Champion team. He was a member of the 1981 Chesterton High School State Runner-up team and went on to be a four year letterman for the Little Giants of Wabash College.

Keith is a coach for the Chesterton Wrestling Club and assistant for Chesterton High School’s wrestling team. A product of the Chesterton wrestling program where he was a two-time IHSAA State Champion and freestyle Jr. National runner-up. Keith continued his career at The University of Wisconsin where he was a Big Ten Champion, a two time NCAA All-American and a freestyle University Nationals Champion. In 2003 he was inducted to the IHSWCA Hall of Fame and in 2014 selected as ISWA’s Kid’s Coach of the Year.

Alex is a coach for the Chesterton Wrestling Club and Chesterton High School. As a product our club and high school programs as well as the son of former CHS heavyweight standout Jeff, Alex’s wrestling wisdom is deep. While Alex experienced early success at CHS, his career was shortened due to injury.

Another product of the Chesterton Wrestling Club, Brian is an aged veteran coach of the club. Though to light to wrestle at in high school, he resumed his wrestling career competing in various Armed Forces tournaments which won him a reserve invitation to the All Marine Wrestling Team in 1995 which he declined due to other duty assignments. Prior to coaching for the CWC, he assisted with the Downers Grove, IL youth wrestling club. Brian has also coached football for Chesterton Pop Warner. Brian has an uncompromising devotion and dedication to teaching wrestling to the youth in Chesterton and growing the CWC to be a top club within the state of Indiana.

A four-year varsity letter winner at River Forest and Lake Station, Coach Torres and his family have deep roots in The Region. Leelo is also known as Aidan’s dad.
